      • Comprehension

I’m always looking for ways to make learning fun for my daughter and I am sure you are too.  Sign up today and you’ll get access to games for free.

New TuTu For the Princess

My daughter loves to wear a tutu.  From the very first one she received at the age of 2, she has been in love.  It’s fitting really.  She takes a bow when anyone claps for her.  She loves to dance around the house.  She is a princess of her own making and we enjoy every moment of it.

So I was very excited when I went on zulily this morning and saw this little number.  On sale for nearly 50% off, $27.99 is a price I can handle!  This deal only lasts until Sunday and is while supplies last, so don’t wait too long.

Lessons in Texan: Driving

I grew up in Massachusetts and I learned how to drive there.  As you may know, the affectionate term for Massachusetts drivers is “Massholes”.  We’re not known as the nicest drivers on the planet. Cutting someone off is an art form and speeding up when you see another driver’s  turn signal is tradition.

In my thirties, I moved to Connecticut.  Connecticut drivers tend to drive fast.  My Massachusetts driving skills were coupled with speed.  You can imagine what that would be like.  A few years later I moved to Rhode Island.  In Rhode Island, someone will cut you off and then wave at you as a thank you.  A couple of years there made me vigilant about watching the other driver.  By the time I moved to Texas, I could sense someone was about to cut me off in traffic before it happened. Zulily: Kiss Me Laminated Splatter Mat

Zulily has some great deals running today.  It’s a great place to find deals for moms.  I ordered from them for the first time about 2 weeks ago.  I couldn’t be more pleased with the item and the service.  One of my favorites today is this Laminated Splatter Mat from asd living – originally $20, it’s on sale for just $11.99.  I know this would save me a lot of clean up after!

Tuesday Tips: Facebook Etiquette

I am much more focused on the etiquette of blogging in recent weeks.  It may be that I have had the opportunity to network more with other bloggers.  It may be that as I trade guest posts, suggestions, tips and/or tools, I see a little glimpse of the person behind each blog.  Sometimes it is as simple as reading another blog and being touched by something they have written.  The reasons are not important, I just know that I am more aware.

I also have been fortunate to significantly increase the number of fans on my Facebook Fan Page.  I have been amazed by this because my Fan Page is not a real barn burner in my opinion.  Still, as I network with other bloggers on different giveaways and/or affiliate network groups, my numbers are growing.  I’m still a  small player on a big stage, but progress is being made.  Along the way, I’ve noted a few items that may be helpful as you try to grow your numbers.  Some of these came by way of chatting with other bloggers and hearing their pet peeves.  Some are my own. My Real Age is…..

About two weeks ago, I wrote about the Real Age test.  I promised that if you took the test and left a comment with your results, I would share mine.  I did receive a few replies via Twitter, so a promise is a promise.

In October of this year I will turn 40.  The test gave me a result of 42.5 years of age.  Do I wish my Real Age were a smaller number?  Of course I do and the Real Age site gave me some tips on how to lower that number.  So, now the goal is to lower the number and I’ll report back to you periodically to let you know how I am doing.  I imagine it will take a little time to lower the number, so get ready to hear all about it!

Here Comes July: I Need Coupons!

Being a stepmother can be all about being flexible.  This applies to lots of situations, but right now I am focused on food and grocery shopping.  The number of people in my house fluctuates from three to five depending on the time of year and/or the day of the week.  My DH does not have custody of Dillon and Samantha.  They are with us on certain weekends, holidays and one month during the summer.  I usually grocery shop with 3 people in mind.  In July, I grocery shop for 5.  So, I need coupons and I imagine you do too.

Life is not about how fast you run or how high you climb but how well you bounce.
